The
James Bond star will chat with biographer Gareth Owen about his extraordinary life and career, with inside stories
and exclusive anecdotes ranging from his internationally renowned TV
shows The Saint and The Persuaders, through to Hollywood
blockbusters and, of course, the 007 films. Sir Roger starred as James Bond
between 1973 and 1985, mastering the role with Live and Let Die and bowing out with A View to a Kill, starring in The
Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The
Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979),
For
Your Eyes Only (1981) and Octopussy (1983) in-between. Sir Roger
was knighted in 2003 for his charity work and remains a Goodwill Ambassador for
UNICEF.
Gareth Owen, who will interview
Sir Roger, is an author of nine books and has worked with Roger Moore on his
autobiography My Word Is My Bond and Bond On Bond. Owen has interviewed Sir Roger
previously at the BFI Southbank, the Barbican Centre and at various UNICEF
fundraisers throughout Europe.
An Evening with Sir Roger Moore
will be followed by a Q&A session, with the unique opportunity to put a
question, live, to the Hollywood star.
Theatre Director Joanne Johnson
says: “We’re incredibly excited to
announce that Sir Roger Moore will be visiting Tyne Theatre & Opera House.
It will be an honour to have 007 on our stage! This talk will be a wonderful
opportunity to hear stories from Sir Roger’s impressive career, and with the
chance to put questions to the man himself, this is a night not to be missed.”
Tickets available now from www.tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk
Tickets
are priced at £26, with a very limited number of meet & greet tickets
