Roald
Dahl’s The Twits tells the tale of the most spiteful and revolting couple you
could ever hope to meet. Mr Twit has a very hairy face. His beard is spiky and
smelly. It also contains cornflakes, sardines and even some stilton. Mrs Twit
is equally as foul and she hates Mr Twit just as much as Mr Twit hates her.

They
spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating
Muggle-Wump monkeys. They also have a particularly sticky trick to catch
Roly-Poly birds for their bird pies. But not for much longer because the
monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson.
Max
Webster (The Lorax at The Old Vic) directs a hugely talented cast of
actor-musicians and acrobats alongside an exceptional creative team including
Designer and Linbury Prize Finalist Georgia Lowe, Lighting Designer Joshua
Pharo, Movement Director Deborah Pugh, Sound Designer Carolyn Downing and
Composer Dougal Irvine who returns to create new songs and music for the
production following last year’s The Witches.
The
show goes on a national tour after opening in Hong Kong and a highly anticipated
run at Curve this Christmas.

Curve
Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said: “We couldn’t
be more excited to be presenting David Wood’s anarchic adaptation of The Twits
during the Dahl 100 celebratory year. Following the success of The Witches last
year, we are proud to be working with our friends at the Rose Kingston and
Lyric Theatre, Hong Kong once again. Director Max Webster and our Casting
Director Kay Magson have brought together a first class company of actors, who
not only play instruments but also boast a host of acrobatic skills. We’re also
thrilled that yet another Curve production will be seen by audiences from
further afield with more young people and their families able to see the
production as we visit venues across the UK.”
