The nation’s favourite rock
tribute show is returning to Tyneside this week.
Renowned for their
action-packed, pyrotechnic-fuelled shows, Limehouse Lizzy will be performing
the iconic rock songs of Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy at The Customs
House in South Shields on Saturday 14th January.
For the last 10 years Limehouse
Lizzy have played The Customs House’s first post panto gig every January and
this year the band are back and celebrating 21 year together.
The Customs House Executive
Director Ray Spencer said: “Limehouse Lizzy are one of the most popular tribute
acts around and it’s become a bit of a tradition now that they mark the start
of our new season.
“We’re delighted they are back
in 2017 as we always have a great audience and fantastic feedback.”
Limehouse Lizzy have received
international recognition having headlined at music festivals across Europe as
well as the Virgin Atlantic music festival in Barbados and have won the PRS award
For Music's Hardest Working UK Band.
The band’s Into the Limelight
tour was developed to tie in with their appearance on a BBC2
documentary and they have even been recruited to record and tour by members of
the original Thin Lizzy.
The show will feature Celtic
inspired hits including Black Rose and Whiskey in the Jar, as well as classics
including the famous single The Boys are Back in Town which launched Thin
Lizzy’s global success. The show also features a tribute to ex-Thin Lizzy
guitarist Gary Moore.
Band member Wayne Ellis said:
“We have been playing The Customs House for many, many years and it’s fantastic
we have been opening the new post-panto season for the last decade. We love
coming to The Customs House and always have a fantastic
time.”
