Hop on Down
to The Customs House for Perfect Half-Term Treat
The Rabbit's Tail
South Shields Customs House
Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 February
2016
New
children's show The Rabbit's Tail will run at the Mill Dam venue in South Shields from Tuesday 16 to
Thursday 18 February.
The
annual half-term treat is from the team that brought you Santa's Naughty Elf
and Wendy the Witch.
This
is the third children's show the art centre has produced featuring characters
from its Christmas pantomime. Last year's show was The Three Little Pigs and
2014's show was The Girl and the Unicorn.
Wayne
Miller, who wrote, directed and is set to star in the venue annual half-term
treat said: "After the success of The Three Little Pigs it was an obvious
choice to follow the success of this year's Alice in Wonderland's Mr
Rabbit. Luke Maddison did a wonderful
job with that character and we knew the Rabbit had to return. Hopefully we have
managed to bring the magic from Wonderland to The Rabbits Tail this half term.”
Luke
added: "I cannot wait to be back putting on the white fur of Mr Rabbit
once more in The Rabbit’s Tail. It’s
always a joy to come back to my favourite theatre and I am especially looking
forward to being reunited on stage with Wayne and the company! It's such a
rewarding and enjoyable experience working alongside a very talented bunch and
I really hope the audience have as much fun as we do in the show!”
In
the show Peter Plank, played by Wayne, tries really hard to
get his work done but everything seems to go wrong.
When
he discovers Mr Rabbit has a magic tail he thinks he has the perfect plan to
make him the hero of the village - the only problem is the evil Goblin King has
kidnapped Mr Rabbit. Can Peter save the day, stop the
Goblin King in his tracks and make all his dreams come true?
Joining
Luke and Wayne in the cast will be Geordie the Musical and Santa’s Naughty
Elf’s Eleanor Chaganis as Annie and David Hopper will reprise his role as Wendy
the Witch’s Goblin King.
Wayne said: “The cast this
year is made up of Customs House favourites from the Alice In Wonderland,
Santa’s Naughty Elf and a welcome return of The Goblin King from Wendy The
Witch. I thought it would be a fun idea to have a little cross over where The
Goblin King comes to put the lovable Mr Rabbit in danger, attempting to steal
his magic tail.”
“Once
again we have a great family show on offer, with lots of interactive fun,
jokes, original songs and a bucket load of heart. Being able to offer our own
in house children's shows at The Customs House means a lot to us, even more so
when it brings so much joy and laughter!”
