Professor Iain Stewart |
One
sixth of the modern global economy depends on hydrocarbon fuels. Without them
the planet would grind to a halt. No single resource has ever changed so
overwhelmingly the course of mankind’s and earth’s history.
Iain
looks back at the social and political consequences of society’s gradual
addiction to fossil fuels and considers whether we can ever end our dependence.
