One of Coronation Street’s newest stars will be swapping the cobbles for ARC’s stage next week when he performs in a new show by England’s largest professional learning-disabled theatre company.

Liam Barstow is a resident artist of Mind the Gap theatre who are bringing their new show Contained to ARC next week and he will be performing as part of the collective cast who are all learning disabled actors.

Liam, who has Down’s syndrome, has recently been cast as Cathy Matthews’ nephew Alex in the UK’s longest running soap. He has already won over viewers since appearing in the soap earlier this month over a few episodes as part of a story line that sees his aunt embark on a friendship with Roy Cropper.

He will now take to the stage as ARC to perform in Contained. It is a show about nine interwoven true stories from the cast about family and friendships, love and loss, and the small moments in life that suddenly become meaningful.

The show features live performance, film, photography, music and dance in a dynamic and exciting new form of theatre. It explores those moments that teach us about ourselves and the world that we live in.

Tickets:
Contained will be at Stockton ARC Wednesday 21 October at 7pm and Thursday 22 October at 1.15pm and is a Pay What You Decide show.
