Killer Show Comes to The Customs House

This is a powerful yet bubbly production” Jowheretogo Review
A hit black comedy comes home this week.  Fresh from their much-lauded Edinburgh Fringe Festival production of Send More Paper, Camisado Club returns to The Customs House.
Having rehearsed  the play at the Mill Dam venue in South Shields, the group of eight performing arts graduates are delighted to be back to showcase this tale of joy, mischief, love and deceit on Friday (Sept 5).
Send More Paper relives the true tale of a group of housewives in Hungary who committed mass murder over the course of 15 years in the early 20th century.  Customs House marketing, programming and events co-ordinator Sally Hoban said: “We saw this show earlier in the year and we knew we had to bring it to the venue.  The group rehearsed here before going to Edinburgh and there was a real buzz about the play. It’s a Tarantino-esque show with a great cast.  We’re always eager to support and celebrate new theatre and we’re delighted to see Camisado Club at The Customs House.”
The grisly story uses dark humour to follow the housewives who systematically poisoned their husbands, parents, children and anyone who got in their way.  The performance is a fast paced presentation of comedy, physical theatre, clowning and mime, and text to tell the tale in a unique and amusing way.
In a four-star review Broadway Baby said: “Send More Paper is a brilliant black comedy that will leave you feeling unsettled… after you’ve stopped laughing.”
Jowheretogo reviewed the production when it was performed at Northern Stage back in March – clink on this link to see what we said http://nomorepanicbutton.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/review-send-more-paper-northern-stage.html
