After the success of ‘RENT’ in September 2016 (NETG 'Rent' Review LINK), Second Act Theatre presents ‘Spring Awakening’, by arrangement with Josef Weinberger, in the Grade 2 Listed Jubilee Theatre, Gosforth.

Second Act, the adult company to First Act Theatre, has been resident at the Jubilee Theatre for 25 years.

In a world where the adults call all the shots, a group of school friends begin their fraught and exhilarating journey into adulthood. This Tony Award-winning musical, based on the controversial 1891 play that was once banned in Germany, brings the story of sexual awakening and self-discovery amongst teenage classmates into the new century.

*Contains explicit scenes/scenes of a sexual nature that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.

Principals:
Melchior – Ethan Lang (18, Hartlepool) – member of Casting Call Academy. He has performed in Her Majesty’s Theatre, London. Studying performing arts at college and wants to be an actor.
Wendla – Rebecca Charlton (18, Gateshead) – Rebecca is studying towards her second LAMDA Grade 8 and hopes to go on to drama school in the next few years.
Moritz – Jonny Hill (19, Whickham) – Jonny will also be playing the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz at the Theatre Royal in July. He’s in the National Youth Theatre & is currently auditioning for drama schools.
