The beloved favourite sees Dorothy Gale, a young girl from Kansas, swept from her home by a tornado and land in the fantastical world of Oz. With her dog Toto, and help from her newly found friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion, she battles a Wicked Witch on an adventure to find her way home.

Newcastle Musical Theatre Company
Established in 1948, NMTC have performed a major production at Newcastle Theatre Royal, every year for the last 60 years (excepting 1986, due to the theatre’s refurbishment). Although an amateur dramatics company, each show is directed, choreographed, set and staged to a professional standard and a major under-taking with production costs exceeding £100,000 per show.

Each year, the company chooses to support fundraising for a local charity. This year NMTC have chosen to assist Northumbria Blood Bikes.

Whilst technically amateur performers, NMTC has performed at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal for over 60 years, staging exceptional productions that have, on occasion, even beaten London’s own West End ticket sales.

Tickets:
NMTC’s Newcastle Theatre Royal production of Wizard of Oz will take place from 25-29 July at 7.00pm with addition matinee performances on 27-29 July at 2.00pm, with tickets available at www.theatreroyal.co.uk from £10.00.
