The Playhouse are pleased to announce that Tynemouth Amateur Operatic Society will present Goodnight Mister Tom – The Musical at the Playhouse from Wednesday 24^th May – Sunday 28^th May 2017.

A musical version of Michelle Magorian’s award-winning book, regarded as a modern classic, it is the story of William Beech, an artistically-gifted but abused young boy who escapes his brutal home life when he is evacuated to the countryside during World War II. He is ultimately rescued from his hideous upbringing when he is taken into the care of Mister Tom, a lonely old man. The original television version starred the late John Thaw. With Gary Carpenter’s soaring, tuneful score and Michelle Magorian’s beautiful lyrics, this is a wonderful, ultimately uplifting show which will appeal to young and old alike.

Goodnight Mister Tom – The Musical comes to Whitley Bay Playhouse on Wednesday 24^th May – Sunday 28^th May 2017 at 7.15 pm Wednesday - Saturday, 2.15 pm Saturday & 3 pm Sunday

Tickets costing £15, £13 conc., £48 Family (2 adults & 2 conc.), £5 Group Price for Schools (minimum order 15, Teachers Go Free) will go on sale at 10 am on Friday 28^th October 2016.
