Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Newcastle Theatre Royal’s 2014/15 pantomime, has
once again trumped all previous years sales and is set to become the fastest-selling
pantomime in the theatre’s 177 year history.
Box
Office figures this week showed sales were 12% up from the same time last year
suggesting the appetite for Theatre Royal pantomime continues to grow! Last
year’s panto, Jack and the Beanstalk,
broke all the previous records. Over 92,000 people saw the show starring Clive
Webb, Danny Adams and Chris Hayward, not forgetting the 168,000 hospital
patients it was broadcast to.
Already,
over 77,000 tickets have been sold for this year’s panto which opens on Thursday 25 November
2014, and two additional
performances have already been added due to continuous growing demand. The
Theatre Royal pantomime starts earlier than any other in the region and has the
longest run of any pantomime in the country. The two extra performances have
been added on Sunday 18 January at 1pm and 5pm extending the run by an additional day.
Theatre
Royal owes its enduring popularity to the massive talent of father and son comedy
duo Clive Webb and Danny Adams, opulently dressed dame Chris Hayward, visionary
Newcastle-born producer Michael Harrison and amazing special effects from by
The Twins FX.
