Rich
Hall, star of the critically acclaimed BBC 4
documentaries Rich Hall’s California Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go To Hell,
I’m Going To Texas and Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian, comes to Tyne Theatre & Opera House this Autumn.
Rich Hall’s grouchy, deadpan
style has established him as a master of absurdist irony and the king of
rapid-fire wit. The award-winning Montana
native renowned for his expertly crafted tirades and quick fire banter with
audiences and delightful musical sequences saddles up and hitches his wagon to
tour the British Isles once again.
This
is a comedian who's plain spoken growling indignation and acerbic observations
have an unerring talent for hitting his targets with precision every time,
leaving his audience hanging on every word winning him fans all over the globe.
Perrier (Edinburgh Comedy Festival)
Award and Barry (Melbourne International
Comedy Festival) Award winner Hall
has been described as a transatlantic messenger lampooning each country he
visits with his common sense, and he is no less harsh to his homeland.
Rich has also become well known for his television and radio work.
Notable UK appearances include regular appearances on Very British Problems (Channel 4), ‘Stand Up For The Week’ (Channel 4), ‘QI’ (BBC1/2),

Other strings to his bow include
writing for The David Letterman Show,
which he won two Emmy’s for and was the inspiration behind Matt Groening’s
character Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons.
Rich is also an accomplished author, he has released three books, Magnificent Bastards, I Blame Society
and Things Snowballs, all released by
Abacus Books. Hall has also released two very successful stand-up DVD’s in 2001
and 2009 through Universal Pictures UK.
