Children’s Delight
Whatever the Weather
Arts Centre Washington
Thursday 19 February.
Pop on your shades, bring your
brolly and be blown away by Whatever the
Weather, M6 Theatre Company’s delightful new show for families aged 3 to
103, appearing at Arts Centre Washington on Thursday 19 February.
In a colourful weather house on a quiet wall, each day Mr Rain and Mrs Sunshine
tell us if it’s going to be wet and windy or sunny and dry. The pair couldn’t
be more different. Living together but always apart, day after day, month after
month, year after year - but what would happen if they came alive?
Join our lovable characters on their journey of discovery as the winds of
change blow so hard that everything becomes topsy-turvy. What will they learn
in their new and unfamiliar conditions? Come rain or shine, gusts or gales, the
show must go on whatever the weather!
Whatever the Weather has been produced in association with Polka Theatre
and created and directed by Gilly Baskeyfield (Artistic Director). The show
features an inventive and original music score by Jon Nicholls (Composer), and
a stunning set created by Joss Matzen (Designer and Production Manager).
Speaking about the show, Gilly Baskeyfield says: “Whatever the Weather brings with it lots of
laughter, but also engages the audience in an emotional journey of two
characters facing the challenge of learning to share their environment and get
along with each other. The show is a visual delight where our imaginations are
allowed to roam around in the curious, multi-sensory world of the weather
house. Children and their families will
enjoy the fun and surprises on offer, yet care and empathise with the
characters as they let go of their
loneliness and discover the joys of friendship.“
M6 Theatre Company, founded in
1977 and based in Rochdale, is acknowledged as one of Britain’s leading touring
theatre companies specialising in creating and delivering high quality theatre
for young audiences.
Whatever
the Weather is
suitable for audiences of all ages, from 3 to 103.
